A long awaited beat tape from TARIF. that came after years of being scrapped, restructured and revisited. Originally named VIBES, GROOVES & B-SIDES, SLCV1 is a dizzying exploration of lofi textures, sample chopping and drums which offer a foundation for the experiments that follow in later volumes. The tape features the first collaboration with Stephen Carmona (“trips”), samples chopped unevenly without quantization coming from a question posed from Jay Versace on Twitter (“doinmewrong” & “veranda”), and sound bites that are both interesting and humorous.
