Sequenced as a continuation or extended play of the first volume, SOUL LOOPS & COFFEE VOL. 2 picks up where the first volume left off starting with a loop originally created in 2012 with an updated sound bite from the first black astronaut Fredrick Gregory. The beat tape also features another Stephen Carmona collaboration which came about during the pandemic in Omari Jazz’ discord (“spacefunksloploop”), a 6/8 loop inspired by Play-Odds (“blackrootsscience”), a new chop made in collaboration with Julian Vaughn (“espresso”) and a short ode to Dilla (“donuts and coffee”).
